Happy Thanksgiving from the ZenSweet Family! We hope you have had an abundant and healthy Fall season. What is the best part of Thanksgiving….the side dishes! You’re with me, right? I feel like most people eat turkey out of obligation so they can fill their plates with the delicious side dishes. Sadly, in the standard American diet (SAD), a lot of Thanksgiving side dishes are filled with sugar and starch. We’ve come up with two side dishes that are super quick, easy, free of sugar, pretty low in carbs and taste amazing.
The funny thing about ZenSweet Cranberry Sauce is every single year, we get commissioned to bring the cranberry sauce. For the past three years or so (since the inception of ZenSweet) we have made the cranberry sauce, obviously with ZenSweet. No one in the family has ever even noticed, and they all rave about how delicious the cranberries are. Truth be told, ZenSweet makes a great sugar replacement because our family members would have no trouble telling us if the cranberry sauce tasted awful.
This recipe for Roast Candy Carrots is about as easy as it gets. When you’re making a lot of side dishes it’s nice to have a few that take very little prep time but help round out the Thanksgiving feast. I found these amazing, little, heirloom carrots at Trader Joe’s and they looked so festive with the multi-colors. But, you can use large carrots as long as you slice them a bit smaller, or use the pre-washed baby carrots.
We hope you can slow down a bit over the holidays. And, enjoy these side dishes with an ultra moist turkey, good company, laughter and rest. We’re so thankful for you being here, a part of the ZenSweet Life.
